Follow for Discount uses authorized Shopify and Instagram workflows to operate the campaign. This page explains verified product behavior without making unsupported security or compliance claims.
Instagram authorization
Merchants connect a professional account on Instagram
Instagram authorization occurs on Instagram. Follow for Discount does not receive or store the merchant’s Instagram password.
- One Instagram Business or Creator account is supported.
- The connection identifies the professional account and username.
- The app receives recognized discount requests.
- The app checks whether the requesting user follows the account.
- The app replies with follow instructions or an eligible reward.
Shopper data flow
What the reward workflow records
The app needs enough information to process a recognized Instagram request, verify eligibility, issue a Shopify code, and show the merchant available records.
Issued rewards
Discount Logs record successful code issuance. They do not establish redemption, orders, refunds, cancellations, or attributed revenue.
Widget engagement
Available widget interaction data may depend on shopper consent, browser storage, privacy tools, and successful event delivery.
Shopify behavior
Codes use Shopify’s normal checkout field
Follow for Discount creates app-managed, single-use Shopify discount codes. The shopper copies the code from Instagram and enters it manually during checkout.
Current product boundaries
- The code is not automatically applied at checkout.
- The app does not add a checkout or customer-account interface.
- An issued code is not linked to a paid order by Discount Logs.
- There is no verified Shopify Flow integration.
